Do you organize and/or plan the ceremony for us?

Generally no, but I'm open to providing suggestions and ideas for your ceremony.

Will you also act as our guide for certain activities?

No. I'm not a trained, certified/licensed, or experienced guide. If necessary, I can help you find an appropriate guide for your activity. However, if it's something as simple as a hike or skiing down groomed trails then sure, I'll lead you and your wedding party to the ceremony destination.

What are your qualifications?

Other than being a commissioned Justice of the Peace in NH since 2012 and owning a nice black suit and a shiny black robe, I have a motorcycle license, open water scuba diving certification, I can water ski, snow ski, skateboard, paddle board, mountain bike, kayak, I’ve finished a marathon and climbed most 4000 footers in NH.  I have pretty good balance. I have some experience in other sports and activities like riding horses, ice climbing and repelling. If you don't see your sport or activity listed above, it doesn't mean I can't do your ceremony. See the next question for further explanation.

Will you help us recite our vows while free soloing up a rocky cliff in Rumney, NH?

Um, no. I won’t put myself in imminent danger, but I will take risk. For most activities, I’m generally “off the couch” ready and in good physical condition, but if you have something in mind that is very specific and requires training and/or specialized skills or certification, then you have to give me enough time to get ready for your big day.

Will you give a religious or spiritual ceremony?

Sure, as long as it’s ok with your god then I’m cool with it. I’m more than happy to read anything religious or spiritual if it’s important to you.

So, do we write our own vows or do you do that for us?

You can write them or leave it to me. I’m particularly skilled at writing haikus and rhyming poems.

Depending on the location and activity, the length of the vows should be appropriate. If we’re on wakeboards or galloping on horses, vows are usually straight and to the point. If we’re standing still on top of a mountain or somewhere that doesn’t require dexterity or too much physical exertion, vows can be short, medium or long. It’s up to you.

You give 10% of your fee to the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC)? Wow, that's nice! Can we ask you to donate 10% to another charity of our choice instead of the AMC?

Yes & Yes

What if the ceremony requires special equipment?

You'll provide all equipment that I need with the exception of skis, mountain bike, paddle board, and anything related to hiking (any season). I have those sports covered.

Will you officiate our LGBTQ+ wedding?

Heck yes! If the State of NH gave you a wedding license, then I’ll happily marry you.

Will you perform the ceremony anywhere? I mean anywhere?

If your wedding idea and location is legal, then I’ll do it. If it's on the property of a business or someone's private property or anywhere else that makes you wonder "hmm, do you think it's ok if we get married here?", then I'll need to see some proof that you have  permission. I can help with this too.

Will you wear a pirate costume and perform the entire ceremony with a pirate voice?

Sure, it's your ceremony. I'll wear any costume that you provide and do my best with the pirate voice but keep in mind, I’m not a performance artist.

Can we just renew our vows with you?

Yes, of course! Vow renewals are a great way to, well, renew your vows and make that promise to your husband or wife that you'll be there for them no matter what.

I don't want anything too unique or adventurous. Can you just come to our backyard and do a traditional ceremony?

You bet! We can do it up traditional style too.

What about last minute weddings? Like tomorrow?

Click on 'connect' in the menu above and shoot me a text or call me right now. If I'm in the area and I don't have another ceremony to attend to or other commitments, then I'd love to do your shotgun wedding. I have some nice vows all ready to go for you and can quickly tailor them to your situation.
